Life at Coorparoo Aged Care is shaped by the everyday moments people share. February brought time with family, celebrations with friends, and simple activities that bring people together. From birthdays and shared meals to social groups and friendly games, the month reflected the strong sense of Coorparoo Aged Care community life.
Birthday Celebrations
Birthdays were a special part of the month, with residents celebrating in ways that felt meaningful to them.
Jill marked her birthday with a busy and lovely morning spent celebrating with others around her.
Estelle celebrated her birthday the day before with her husband Alan by her side, sharing the day together.
Nick spent his birthday with his wife Nola and looked forward to dinner on the rooftop later in the evening with family.
Maureen and Lula both celebrated their birthdays on the same day. Visitors came by to spend time with them and help mark the occasion.
Dianne was surrounded by friends during Happy Hour, where everyone joined together to sing happy birthday.
Lyn also celebrated her special day with friends and staff, with many stopping by to wish her well.
These moments are a reminder that Coorparoo Aged Care community life is built around connection, friendship and recognising the milestones that matter.
Lunch at The Village Bistro
A group of residents enjoyed an outing for Lunch at The Village Bistro. The gathering also marked an early celebration for Marie, who is preparing to turn 99 later this week.
Marie celebrated with friends and enjoyed birthday cake made especially for her. The cake was shared generously with everyone who attended, adding to the sense of occasion around the table.
Family Time in Erica House
Family visits are an important part of daily life. Barb from Level 5 spent time with her family while celebrating her twin nieces’ 28th birthday in the Erica House Outdoor Area.
It was one of those gatherings where conversation flows easily and the sound of people chatting and laughing fills the space.
Rooftop Fish and Chips Night
Residents gathered for Rooftop Fish and Chips Night, enjoying takeaway together with sweeping views across the area.
Comments from residents said it all. The food was great, the company was lovely and the view was spectacular. With clear weather adding to the evening, it was a relaxed way to spend time together.
Morning Exercise and Bocce
The week began with Morning Exercise and Bocce, starting with a gentle exercise session followed by morning tea.
Afterwards, residents gathered for a friendly game of bocce. Conversation, shared stories and plenty of laughter made it a welcoming start to the week.
Stitch and Chat
Afternoons also brought quieter social time through Stitch and Chat.
Residents came together in a relaxed setting to work on their projects, talk with friends and share ideas. It is a simple way to spend time together, but these regular gatherings play an important role in the rhythm of Coorparoo Aged Care community life.
